Odera Igbokwe is a painter celebrating the magic of the African Diaspora and QTBIPOC communities.

The Altar is an avatar of intentional connection across the past, present, and future, with an emphasis on embodied ritual. They stand at the center of the elements as act as a conduit between the heavens and the earth. They summon the multiplicity of elements (earth, fire, water, and air) while surrounded by an Ofo staff, a cowry medallion, a calabash bowl, and a sword.

The Altar reminds us that we have a multitude of ways to not only engage in ritual and veneration, but that there are multiple frameworks that can coexist to view the past or look towards futurity.
